Hilary Ann Swank was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a small child, Swank moved with her family to the hamlet of Bellingham, Washington. Soon, her father would change jobs — deciding that there was money to be had dealing in trailers. When Hilary was just six years old, he shifted the family into a trailer-park and began life as a traveling salesman.
